Transport for London (TfL) awarded CAF a contract for 43 five-car driverless metro trains in June which are due to start entering service in 2023. CAF has contracted Thales to supply and integrate the control systems for the new trains.

Under the second contract, awarded by TfL, Thales will upgrade the signalling systems and software for subsystems for the SelTrac communications-based train control (CBCT) system which Thales originally installed on the network from 1994 onwards.
